Chapter 56 Unfinished Business
- Christian stared at the message on his phone, his thumb hovering above the screen. The words burned into his mind, and though his face gave nothing away, his body was coiled like a loaded spring.
- "You thought you won? You haven’t even seen the worst of it yet."
- He locked the screen and placed the phone face-down on the kitchen island. His jaw clenched, the muscles ticking just beneath the surface. The hum of the refrigerator was the only sound in the vast, modern kitchen, but to Christian, it was deafening.
