Chapter 3 First Appearance
- So, I have been practicing more stance, getting stronger to face the deadly Alpha and to impersonate my sister. It turns out she's the perfect luna. So, I have dyed my hair blond, do my nails and toes, and learn how to apply makeup. Some may not know it but we have different sets of teeth; White but different in sizes and shapes. We're of the same height and body tone but Anika is a bit lighter. It's not noticeable but it's true.
- My blaring alarm takes my mind off them as I raise my head to check the time on the wall clock it's 3:30 in the evening. Time to go for training.
- Running through hectares of land is my favorite hobby because of my speed and agility all thanks to my inner wolf who hadn't made herself known for years now. As I'm running, I keep thinking about our first encounter as trivial as he could. Callan is a dangerous Alpha with more land and power than the lycan King.
- Will killing him work?
- There is no record of him anywhere, few knew his parents even I didn't. The alpha of our pack didn't have any male children before I left. Somehow there's this urge to meet him. I can't explain but I think my wolf is eager to meet him. I may not show it but I'm curious as well.
- I'm curious to meet this Alpha that has made the organization tremble even if the king feels threatened. Alpha's are dominant and aggressive beings everyone knows that. Rumors had it that Callan has challenged the King for a duel and according to the laws governing the supernatural world, anyone is free to challenge the king for his position if he desecrated the land. Lycan King Dominic has been ruling for centuries.
- My mind has never wavered in carrying out orders but this particular order is giving me goosebumps. That's why I'm going to try and do this tonight. At least I have to see for myself. I need to know what I'm getting myself into.
- Breathing hard with my chest heaving up and down, I stopped running, turned around, and rushed back to the house to get my hoodie. If the information I gathered is correct he should be in Iceland this morning by ten. I twirl my wristwatch and check the time alas it's seven o'clock already which means I have at least three hours to get ready and sort myself out.
- Getting there on time is my priority at the moment. I quickly rushed into the bathroom for a thorough bath, towel myself dry, and walked into my walk-in closet to get the red dress that I mainly use to assassinate wealthy men that can't resist a beautiful girl in a dress.
- I don't wanna brag but I have killed a lot of people in my twenty-five years of living and none has made me have cold feet like this one. I repeat none.
- Men come and go like the season so, handsome men aren't a new thing. I pray it won't be.
- Sizing myself up in the mirror, my hair is wrapped in a bun and my lips a little too red for my liking but again that's me. Everything about me is too much and that has been helpful so far. Draping my hoodie on my hand, I reload my bag after checking for extra bullets and sharp knives. Who knows it might come in handy.
- I knot the laces on my boots ready to do this.
- It was nine-thirty by the time I got there, the event is strictly by invitation so I had to nap a card from one of the guests who turned out to be a beta. I didn't kill him though. Wolves are horny creatures, it wasn't that hard. Huff, me knocking out a beta seems hilarious but that's just the chip of the iceberg because I have faced an alpha once, and guess what he didn't make it out of the ring alive.
- So know that I'm good at what I do.
- On getting to the hall room, whiffs of wolves of different ranks engulf my senses, the feeling so strong that I almost lost my footing.
- Alphas. They're all alphas.
- A server offers me a drink and I flashed him a smile which he didn't waste time to return but in a polite way. Perhaps he has a mate. I sip from the cup with eyes scanning the auditorium for the man of the day.
- Alpha Callan.
- Halfway across the hall and no sign of him. I'm beginning to think this is a colossal waste of time. I have had six glasses of wine. Non-alcohol of course. I wouldn't want to embarrass myself by getting drunk which rarely happens but this is a werewolf party, the drink might be strong. Spike with some holy water or roots.
- An elegant-looking lady hits a glass of wine to get everyone's attention. She looks oddly familiar but I'll like to think that's my mind playing tricks on me. I cannot possibly be thinking I know her.
- " Welcome everyone to this year's Alpha sitting. We're glad to announce that the alpha of the celestial moon Pack the one and only Callan Sinclair will be present this year " she says cheerily while everyone gasps in awe then they start to whisper to one another. I'm assuming this is my chance to get it done.
- Who knew it'll be this easy?
- I gulp the last glass of wine in my hand and then drop it on a waiter's tray. The lady continue with her opening speech by mentioning the names of the alphas in the room while I walked around the hall to make myself as scarcely as possible to prevent people from recognizing me as Anika but I didn't get far as someone choose that moment to interrupt me.
- " Luna Anika, it's a pleasure to see you. I thought you weren't coming for the event " A cocky man says with his brows raised by the look in his eyes
- I assume I'm supposed to know him.
- Oh God!
