Chapter 20 Unknown Anger
- After freshening up, I gathered Derrick and Liam, and we made our way to the dining hall for breakfast. The halls echoed with the soft sounds of our footsteps, a stark contrast to the tension building in my chest. When we entered, my eyes immediately landed on Selena, sitting close to Wang, as if nothing had transpired the night before. The sight of them together, so calm and composed, made my blood boil, but I forced a smile and took my seat with everyone else.
- As we began to eat, Derrick leaned over, his voice soft with affection. “Eva, I’ll be staying here in the pack for three days before I head back home. I want to make the most of this time with you and Liam.”
- I nodded, grateful for his presence yet acutely aware of the danger it could bring. “That sounds wonderful,” I replied, though my mind was far from at ease. The secrets I carried weighed heavily on me, and the longer Derrick stayed, the harder it would be to keep them hidden.
