• “Explain to me why you disappear from your own party for almost three hours, leaving behind a group of wonderful gentlemen who've traveled far and wide to make your acquaintance?!” Dad huffs as he sits back in his chair. His eyes are demanding, waiting for my answer.
• Sitting across the desk from him, I look down at the hem of my dress. The once beautiful and impeccable dress is now dirty with all the mud and dirt from the woods. If I had stepped out into the party looking like Taylor Swift, I might as well be Taylor Spit at this point.
