• Zack could practically hear the crickets chirping after Beta Damien stuttered out his announcement, and it wasn't even night yet. They were so quiet.
• The look on Alpha Nathan's face was somewhere between shock and horror. Zack couldn't blame him. Their problems were only getting worse. If the griffins were after Freya, they might also be after the newborn, and that was a big problem - Freya could defend herself, but the newborn couldn't.
• "On second thought, we should leave today. The sooner we get to the witches, the sooner we can get our answers and plan ahead," Zack said, breaking the tense atmosphere. They couldn't wait any longer, they'd to act quickly before the wrong people found out about Beta Damien's boy.
