Chapter 9
- CELINE POV
- -
- Subsequent to what occurred earlier, I headed straight home to the mansion and confined myself to my room for the night. I haven’t eaten or even drank water or anything all day.
- I don’t want to see anyone right now. It seems as though everyone is laughing at me. I feel everyone thinks I’m stupid and doesn’t know how to think.
- A few moments later, I heard a knock from outside my room and the maid said Lance was in the dining room and he wanted to talk to me.
- “Okay, I’ll be right back.” I tried not to crack my voice.
- I got up from the bed and headed towards the vanity table. I wiped my face with face tissue and put concealer to cover the swelling of my eyes. I also put lip gloss and a color pink blush on my cheeks.
- When I arrived at the dining area, I saw Lance was eating alone and there was no one else there except for the two of us.
- “Lance.”
- Lance looked at me. “Have you eaten yet?” he asked me coldly.
- I shook my head. “No.” I answered and hoped that he would invite me to eat with him.
- “Sit. Eat with me.”
- Despite my surprise, I felt overwhelming joy when Lance invited me to eat, prompting me to swiftly occupy the seat opposite the plate set out for me.
- Spaghetti pasta, wagyu beef, mashed potato with gravy are the dishes served at the table.
- I silently eat the wagyu beef. The intense emotion I was encountering dissipated like a bubble as I’m enjoying a meal with Lance. This only happens once and I don’t know when it will happen again so I hope Lance and I eat together for a long time.
- Did he and Freya meet and she told what happened at the restaurant? Or Freya has moved away and told Lance that we should fix our marriage?
- “I have found a clinic and tomorrow we will go there.”
- I stopped cutting the wagyu beef and shifted my gaze to Lance. “What, clinic?” The smile on my lips slowly disappeared and fear replaced the joy me felt.
- “We will abort that child tomorrow.”
- I felt a sudden chill throughout my entire body system in response to Lance’s words without hesitation.
- “Lance–”
- “Don’t argue anymore,” then Lance shifted his stony gaze to me. “If you don’t agree, I will kill that child right now.”
- I involuntarily let go of the cutlery I was holding. I sensed a complete loss of sensation in my entire body, as if all the blood was being drained from it.
- I place my one palm on my stomach while my eyes look directly at Lance. “Is this what you want, to lose this child?”
- “Yes.” Lance answered readily as he also looked straight at me.
- I shut my eyes for a second and took a deep breath. “Okay.” Then I opened my eyes. “We will abort this baby, if that’s what you want.”
- “It’s good that you obey.”
- “Because it hurts more if you are the one to kill this child.”
- “I’ve lost my appetite.” Lance wiped his mouth with a table napkin, stood up and left.
- When I was alone, a deafening silence surrounded me.
- “I’m sorry, baby...”

- The next day, as Lance and I agreed, he accompanied me to the clinic. Now we are both going there.
- Ever since we left the mansion, I haven’t stopped stroking my tummy.
- This last time, I was hoping and waiting for Lance to say that he had changed his mind, but when we arrived at the clinic until we met the doctor, Lance is still silent.
- After the doctor explained the process, and we signed the consent; we went to the abortion room.
- “Let’s go Mrs. Hart.”
- I silently followed the doctor.
- I didn’t look at Lance until I was inside the abortion room, hoping Lance would stop me.
