Chapter 15
- As I lifted the fork to my mouth, intending to take a bite of fish, a sudden wave of nausea washed over me. Hastily, I rushed to the bathroom, retching violently into the sink. But with an empty stomach, there was nothing to expel, leaving me heaving and making me weaker.
- Burgess's concerned gaze bore into me as he entered the bathroom, his furrowed brows betraying his worry. "Are you allergic to seafood?" he inquired, his tone edged with concern.
