• It was hard to fathom what I was hearing. Was Brian genuinely expressing his feelings for me, or was my mind playing tricks on me? The idea of him confessing his attraction to me was something I had fantasized about for so long, but now that it was happening, I found myself at a loss for words. When he mentioned wanting to take me on a date, a whirlwind of thoughts consumed me. Did he intend for us to be an openly acknowledged couple, or was he merely testing the waters? Was he trying to convey that he wasn’t concerned about societal judgments on our relationship? All these questions bombarded me, and I couldn’t figure out how to respond.
