Chapter 6
- BRIELLE
- "Move it!" The guards ordered, dragging me towards my room.
- I was trying to comply with them, but someone was trying to prove stubborn, and it was becoming hard for me to hold her back.
- "Brielle, stand down or else..."
- "Bane, don't," I pleaded within, afraid of what she'd do if she takes over me.
- The inside of me was burning up like I had consumed something hot. I could feel Bane perambulating restlessly, fighting to be free.
- She was just desperate to step out and attack anybody around me. But I can't allow that.
- I just have to hold her back.
- When the guards brought me to my room, they yanked the door open and tossed me inside.
- "AH!" I exclaimed, falling hard to the ground with my knees scrapping the hard floor.
- This sudden impact caused my body to shiver intensely. I felt my heart skip hard, feeling my hands shaking.
- When I looked at it, I saw long claws slowly forcing its way out through my fingers.
- Bane! She's getting really mad!
- "You're going to be locked up until the Alpha gives an order to free you, " I heard the guards say, followed by the door slamming from behind and the sound of a key dangling from outside.
- As soon as the footsteps of the guards distanced from my room, I gave out a loud cry, groaning out in pain.
- Through the mirror in my front, I saw my eyes glowing green and my teeth growing large.
- A roar escaped my mouth with a sudden darkness engulfing me.
- I couldn't tell what happened to me next. All I noticed was that the excruciating pain I was feeling suddenly came at ease, and...
- Where am I?
- I was in total darkness. I couldn't tell my left to my right.
- "You shouldn't have held me back, Brielle!" I heard Bane groaning.
- When I lifted my eyes in the darkness I was in, I was stunned by what I saw.
- Bane. She has taken over my body!
- I could see her reflection through the mirror. A mighty wolf standing firm, looking all raged while moving around with those terrifying green eyes.
- I was in her body, almost like a shield or an armor. I could only see what was happening outside through her eyes, understanding how a wolf shares body with their host.
- "So this is where she stays?" I uttered, lifting my eyes to have a look around. But all I could see was darkness.
- Suddenly, I heard Bane grouch in anger. She's still mad over the fact that I didn't allow her to bounce out and attack Argon.
- When I looked through her eyes, Bane was making her way to the door, furiously.
- "Bane, what are you doing?"
- "Ending the story of that rat, " She growled.
- "What?! Bane, don't! " I objected, finding that idea bad.
- What if they see her and attack her?
- There are so many guards in this mansion. And Argon? He's a powerful wolf! An Alpha for that matter!
- He might easily bring Bane down along with me.
- I can't allow Bane to do this.
- Before I could voice out and stop my wolf from doing anything stupid, Bane came to a stop by herself.
- She just stood, staring at the door, puffing out deeply.
- "Bane. Are you okay?" I asked, wondering why she didn't go ahead with her plan.
- That's when I heard her chuckling. It echoed in the darkness I was in, sending some kind of terrifying wave into me.
- "You're right, Brielle. I won't attack. There are a lot of guards in this place, and we don't want that Alpha stopping us, " She said, leaving me surprised.
- She heard me?
- Who am I kidding? Of course she'll hear me. She's my wolf. We're unified after all.
- Bane retraced her step to the mat I always lay on. The moment she laid down to relax, I felt myself being pulled out form the darkness in a flash.
- When my eyes came open, I found myself out of Bane, laying on the mat naked.
- Bane has finally calmed down, leaving me relieved... For now.
- "Let them have all the fun they want, " Bane voiced within me.
- "They won't know what hit them very soon." She cackled devilishly, leaving me wondering what plan she has for Argon and Estelle.
- The night was here. I laid on the mat, squirming in pains.
- I haven't eaten anything since morning, and it was beginning to affect me badly.
- My stomach has been growling since then, leaving me munching on my own dress instead.
- The only thing I could rely on was the water rushing from the small bathroom in here. I could still drink that, but what am I going to eat?
- Flashes of the past came to me. This was the time the late Alpha was still alive. He would make sure I was treated like his daughter, giving me whatever I wanted.
- And Argon couldn't stand against his father's wish.
- But when the Alpha died, Argon was bent on making my life miserable. I became a punching bag instead of his Luna.
- He didn't show me any respect, one bit.
- If not for Bane's suggestion, I would have signed that divorce paper and left this place for good.
- "I am not needed in this place," I told myself, curling on the mat.
- Just then, I felt the presence of another wolf outside my room. The aura was weak yet it was engulfing my nostrils.
- The moment I turned over to look at the door...
- "Luna. Luna, can you hear me?" I heard a faint call outside, with a shadow revealing from the down.
- Who is that?
- Curious, I crawled towards the door, still hearing the faint call, calling out to me.
- "Luna, are you okay? No need to speak, just knock and I'll know, " The voice, a female, said to me with so much concern mixed in her tone.
- Listening to her instructions, I carefully gave a knock to show I was listening.
- "Oh, thank the goddess," I heard her joyful response, which planted a smile across my face.
- Who is this lady?
- Why does she sound so familiar?
- I was going to ask who she was, but I saw something sliding underneath the door.
- "Please take this. It's the best I could get," She said, forcing a towel into my room, which had something in it.
- Before I could reach out to the towel and see what was inside, the smell of bread engulfed my nostrils at once, reviving my hunger.
- "Bread?" I uttered, rushing the towel.
- Indeed there was bread wrapped in the towel. Just two slices, enough to pass through the tiny space underneath the door.
- I immediately picked it and began to eat like crazy, quenching the hunger that has been in me since morning.
- "I'll see if I can get you something by midnight. There are some left over meal in the kitchen. I'll try to get that without anyone seeing me, okay? " She promised.
- This touched my heart deeply.
- So, someone still cares about me in this mansion? And I thought I was all alone.
- I felt my eyes welling with tears, as I ate the bread slowly, nodding at the promise of my savior outside the door.
- "Okay, " I responded, so she'll know I'm with her.
- I heard her sigh with delight in her voice. She pulled the towel back, repeating her promise before leaving.
- I still remained at the door, on my knees, munching slowly on the bread given to me by this kind lady.
- I know it's one of the maids who ignored the risk of being caught and came to see me.
- Even though the bread isn't enough, she still saved me from hunger.
- Midnight finally came. There was nothing but silence everywhere.
- I sat near the door, patiently waiting for the maid to return as she promised.
- My stomach was already growling for more food, leaving me biting my finger nails in thoughts.
- "What if she was caught? What if she forgot?" I asked, getting worried for the maid and also for myself.
- "I don't think I can stay without food for too long. I need to eat."
- "You will eat. That's for sure. Don't worry about it, " Bane assured me.
- It almost looked like she didn't care about what I was facing currently. She was just relaxed herself inside of me, assuring me that I'd eat.
- At this point, I was beginning to lose my hope in the maid ever returning.
- "She's not coming back, " I sighed, crawling away from the door.
- Just then, the familiar weak smell from earlier, came streaming into my nose.
- It's her!
- Quickly, I rushed back to the door and saw a shadow below.
- That's when her voice came in like the last time.
- "Luna, are you awake?"
- "Yes, I am, " I whispered back, getting excited.
- But my whole excitement came crashing when the maid revealed to me. "I'm sorry, Luna. I couldn't get anything for you. The guards were standing at the entrance of the kitchen."
- My heart skipped with agony, hearing how she spoke with sadness in her voice.
- "I thought I could step in and out without them noticing, but they caught me with some food and I had to lie I was hungry. They didn't allow me to take it anywhere. I'm sorry, " She pleaded.
- It was clear in her voice. She was upset.
- I felt for her, knowing the risk attached to her plans for me. But she didn't succeed.
- "But don't worry. I know you'll be out soon. I'd just make up an excuse to come into your room in the morning. I'll come along with some food. I beg that you hold on till then, please Luna."
- "I understand. Thank you," I appreciated, so she won't feel sad.
- Her voice sounded pleased after I thanked her. It only left me more desperate to know who she was.
- "What's your name?" I asked.
- "Tania. My name is Tania," She answered.
- "Tania?" I uttered, recognizing her.
- She's the same maid who defended me when Estelle tried to frame me for stealing her golden necklace, which was never stolen in the first place.
- "It's you. I didn't get the chance to thank you the other time. Em... Thank you, " I said, hearing Tania giggling outside.
- It brought peace to my heart, knowing I have someone to stand by my side.
- Tania and I had a little talk, brightening our mood.
- She then comforted me, making a vow I never expected from anyone.
- "The Alpha and the others might have rejected you, but I haven't. I recognize you only as my Luna, not Estelle. I, Tania, Vow to serve you only Luna Brielle. You are still my Luna. You have my word, " She promised.
- This gave me some kind of strength I never had. I smiled and appreciated her for supporting me.
- But our moment was ruined when the voice of a guard came yelling out, " HEY! WHO'S THERE?!"
- "Luna, I have to go, " Tania panicked and ran off.
- I was all alone again, but this time, I didn't feel it.
- I got to my feet and walked towards the small window, thinking about Argon and Estelle.
- "Three months. In this three months, there will be a lot of changes done. I'll make you two regret ever crossing paths with me," I promised.
