- We stop beneath a trellis covered in wisteria, its purple flowers hanging in soft clusters that sway gently in the breeze. The air smells sweet, but I can’t feel calm. My chest is tight, my mind full of noise. The beauty around me feels wrong—too peaceful for the storm inside me.
