Chapter 2 -Fuck!
- “Y—Yes, I am; it’s nice to meet you,” I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper as we exchanged handshakes.
- The moment my hand touched his, a warm sensation surged through me, sending shivers down my spine.
- I gasped softly, yanking my hand away as if his touch burned. It actually did.
- “Mum, I’ll be inside,” I said, my heart racing as I nervously retreated into the mansion.
- “Oh God, please tell me he didn’t notice how his touch left me breathless,” I muttered under my breath as I stepped into the house.
- Once inside, I was momentarily stunned by the beauty of the opulent living room, which radiated not just elegance but an intoxicating air of luxury that felt overwhelming.
- Although I wasn’t surprised—the Parkers weren’t just wealthy; they were drowning in it.
- “Good day, Ma’am,” a lady’s voice interrupted me. I turned to find a brown-haired woman about my age, dressed in a pristine maid's uniform.
- “Good day,” I replied, forcing a warm smile.
- “Can I show you to your room, Ma’am?” she asked. I frowned, confusion knitting my brow.
- “What room? We’re only here for dinner,” I began, but just then, the door swung open, and my mum stepped in, followed closely by Mr. Thorian—and then his hot brother.
- My breath hitched in my throat as I remembered the way his touch had made me feel. But I quickly looked away from him, drifting my gaze to my mother.
- “Mum, are we staying over? You said we were only coming for dinner,” I protested, my pulse quickening as she approached me, her expression revealing the truth: we were staying.
- How could I manage to stay here with…? I shot a furtive glance at Mr. Thorian’s brother again, his smirk igniting something intense within me. I wanted him so badly, even when I knew I wasn’t supposed to.
- He wasn’t just older than I was; he was my step-uncle. It felt so wrong to want him the way I did.
- “Honey, I’m so sorry. I forgot to tell you that we’ll be staying for a few days,” my mum said, her tone casual, as if this were no big deal.
- “A few days? Why would you forget to tell me something so important? I didn’t even pack my clothes!” I lamented, frustration bubbling inside me.
- “Don’t worry, we can go shopping later tonight, right honey?” She flashed a smile at Mr. Thorian, who nodded at me.
- “Yes, sure,” he said, and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.
- “Please show me to my room,” I said to the maid, who nodded at me.
- “Okay, Ma’am, come with me, please,” she said, proceeding to take me inside.
- We stopped in front of a door as I watched her type in a passcode before opening it. I frowned, stunned and confused at the same time.
- Why did the doors have passcodes? Did the whole family have access to this passcode? Did my step-uncle have access to this passcode?
- I wanted to ask her, but I kept my cool. After all, this wasn’t my house. And I was only going to be here for a few days.
- As soon as the maid left, I quickly whipped out my phone from my bag and called my boyfriend, Aiden.
- On the third ring, he picked up. “Hey,” he said bluntly, as if my call were a disturbance.
- “What’s wrong? You’re not happy I called?” I asked, feeling my pulse quicken. “It’s been a whole week, and you haven’t even called to check up on me,” I complained, but what he said next took me aback.
- “Then end it! If you don’t like how this relationship is going, why don’t you fucking end it?! I’m literally tired of your nagging and complaints. Just fuck off,” he said.
- “Bu—but,” before I could say another word, he ended the call.
- I stood there, frozen, unable to believe what I had just heard.
- So this is what I get? After all I had done for him? After all the effort I had put into this relationship, he’s accusing me of nagging?
- I quickly wiped away the tears that pricked at my eyes because I could hear sounds coming from the door, as though someone was typing in the codes.
- My eyes flew open in shock as the door opened, revealing my step-uncle.
- “W—What are you doing here?” I asked, my voice shaky—not just because of what had just happened, but because of him. His presence was too overwhelming for me.
- “I should be asking you the same question,” he said calmly, almost nonchalantly.
- “What do you mean? This is my room; the maid brought me here,” I said. But he smirked, shaking his head slightly.
- “This is my room. Look, my clothes are arranged over there. Nora must have brought you to the wrong room; she’s new here,” he said, digging both hands into his pockets.
- I looked around slowly, my eyes landing on a few of his belongings. Shit, how did I not notice?
- Although I wouldn’t blame myself. I was so caught up with Aiden I didn’t even notice anything in the room.
- “I’m so, so sorry, I—I didn’t notice,” I said, staring down nervously.
- “It’s okay. Come with me; let me show you to your room,” he said, gesturing toward the door. I looked up at him, a quick scene playing in my head.
- Him showing me to my room, then quickly closing the door as he approaches me, his eyes hungry for me as he slams his lips on mine, kissing me with everything in him. And then we…
- “So, are you coming?” he said, his voice breaking me out of my thoughts.
- “Yeah—sure,” I said, almost in a moan.
- This has to stop. There’s no way a man like this could want me. He’s too good for me.
- I know the kind of women men like him would want—those sexy, high-class women. Those women who aren’t me. Those women who are completely opposite from me. I don’t even like the lipstick I am wearing.
- He stepped out of the room as I followed him slowly. He stopped at a door just after his.
- “Here is your room,” he said, typing in the passcode. I stared in shock because he knew the codes!
- I swallowed a hard lump down my throat as I watched him open the door.
- I stood there, frozen, the scene that had just played out in my head replaying all over again. Fuck!
