Chapter 18 The God Before Her
- It was finally the day. Elora stood behind the cold cell, watching the beard guard unlock the cell's gate. This was when she realized what day it was. She had been unable to view the sun, the moon, nor the sky for who knows how long, but she knew immediately the cell's door was opened, that it was her judgment day.
- Her chest heaved heavily as the guard cuffed her wrist with heavy chuffs and dragged her out of the cell with the chain. A minute, her heart would feel hot and the next minute, it would feel so blank. She kept feeling this way all through the way, while she also ignored Rionaya's discomfort with being handcuffed.
- Elora thought she could maintain this blankness on her face and heart, but the moment she stepped into the chamber, her heart skipped so hard that she thought it would stop her breathing. But still, she tried to maintain the blankness on her face.
