• “Show me your back,” she demands of me. How can I show her something that has no marks of bullets whatsoever? The moment the first shot rang out I had to shield her, bringing my dragon scales out to repel any bullets away from Alana. She is already my mate completely, but will she be able to handle the truth about me? Will she run? Will she accept me?
• I took off my jacket and turned around. I felt her fingers at the holes in the shirt I still wore. Her fingers touched my skin. “How?” She whispered.
