Chapter 2 The Fastener Symbol Is Missing

  • “Serry!” Jovial exclaimed when he saw that Omega, the woman who served as his childhood friend, was already behind the walls of the business lab.
  • “Jovial!” cried Serry, a little surprised. The beautiful Omega smiled brightly as her best friend gently tugged at her elbow. Her bright-green iris lit up when she found a friend whom she considered to be her own older brother, giving a smile as warm as the morning sun. The Omega chuckled sweetly as Jovial ruffled her hair fondly.
  • “You want to meet, Addy? Go to the business lab, he doesn't have any schedule after this.”
  • “Really? Addy has no schedule after this.” asked Serry, trying to make sure the information from Jovial was correct.
  • “Yes. It's evening now. Our course was completed two hours ago, and we were just relaxing while doing business practicum tasks,” replied Jovial, as his eyes fell on Serry's relieved face in front of him.
  • Serry's face is getting happier, and her smile is getting sweeter when she knows her handsome Alpha is really not busy.
  • “Ah… I finally have time to meet my Alpha.”
  • “You can spend some time with your Alpha before the university gates close. You must have missed him, right?” Jovial asked while teasing his childhood friend.
  • Jovial gave a small smile as Serry lowered her head to hide the blush that slowly appeared on her cheeks. Alpha's gaze with emerald green iris shifted to the paper bag that was carried by Serry. His sense of smell could clearly detect the food there. He suspected that his best friend had made food for Addy, and that apparently made a sad smile appear on his stern face.
  • Addy will definitely refuse that food, like Alpha often does. And unfortunately, Jovial always saw that painful scene accidentally. Where Serry was crying and then throwing all the food that had been made with difficulty into the trash because Addy refused the food without hesitation or the slightest sense of guilt.
  • If Addy wasn't his best friend, he would have made the man's handsome face full of wounds from the blow from him. If only Serry had allowed him to put Alpha at bay, he wouldn't be. His best friend always asked him at every opportunity not to hurt Addy for the classic reasons. Of course, because of love and bond.
  • “Then I'll go inside, Jovial,” said Serry.
  • Jovial nodded with a small smile again. Thereafter, he took his best friend in his arms and rubbed her back gently.
  • “I hope Addy doesn't hurt you again.” Jovial said seriously while seeing the reaction of Serry's body, which suddenly stiffened after hearing his words.
  • “That's not possible. Addy will definitely come back to hurt me again. But it's okay. You don't have to worry, Jovial. Thank you for always caring for me.” Serry smiled and then rushed into the business lab.
  • Jovial let out a low groan, nearly slamming the door to re-enter the business lab, and then slammed his fists into Addy's face with a thousand fists. With his arms gripping the hem of the shirt, he was wearing it to vent his painful feelings.
  • Serry took a shaky breath as the door to the business lab room closed. She bit her lower lip hard when the alluring male scent belonging to the Alpha increasingly invaded her sense of smell.
  • *****
  • Uncontrollably, her heart beat rapidly like a horse race, realizing that her Alpha was already in the same room as her. Her two retinas blinked slowly, scanning carefully the whereabouts of fate, who was now putting the book in the bag without realizing her existence.
  • The bright-green iris of Omega was silent. Only one could see the sturdy and handsome figure of Alpha in the corner of the room. Exclaiming admiration in her heart to see her soul mate really looks stunning with a long black coat that wraps his tall and sturdy body.
  • When Addy stood, reaching for his backpack, that's when their eyes met. The two different colored iris stared at each other with different contents. Instantly, Serry felt that her heart was thumping with joy at their intertwined gazes. She described the longing she felt in her gaze. She wanted Addy to know that she really missed the Alpha.
  • The Omega inside her was screaming enthusiastically while dancing around. Told her to immediately approach her Alpha, and Serry did that the next second. The Omega turned to its owner with a wide smile, ran towards him, and then, without hesitation, lunged at him with a loving embrace.
  • Until didn't realize that Addy had sat back in the chair because he wasn't ready for Serry's strong embrace. Making his sturdy thighs the base for Omega's seat.
  • “Addy … I miss you,” said Serry quietly. The Omega tightened her arms around the Alpha's neck to vent the longing she felt. Do not forget to keep the bag containing food that she brought on the table, which is directly behind Addy's burly back.
  • Serry closed her eyes as she inhaled the male scent that her Alpha had. She could feel that the Omega inside her was cheering for joy because she had her Alpha in her arms right now.
  • “What are you doing?” said Addy in a flat tone.
  • The Omega smiled wider, showing that she was indeed feeling happy right now. Serry kissed the Alpha's temple softly. Then she mumbled softly, “I already said that I missed you, my Alpha.”
  • Honestly, Serry hoped that Addy would say the same thing. Expressing the same longing and hugging her back. But her heart had to throb in pain because the Alpha was just silent. Obviously, not interested in her presence here and did not want a hug from her.
  • The Omega tried to ignore the throbbing pain in her heart. She held back the pain that gnawed at her heart by biting hard on her lower lip until a small wound appeared there. She didn't feel her eyelids getting heavy from this rejection. Even after a few seconds had passed, her Alpha just silently ignored her.
  • Of course, Serry Benson, what did you expect?
  • Addy, who hugs you back and cares about the wound in your heart? Dream, because it will never happen.
  • When the Omega released her arms slowly and turned her face away, she found Addy staring straight ahead. Even the Alpha didn't want to look back at her. That fact really adds to the tear in her eye.
  • “Addy…”
  • Serry did not continue her speech because Addy immediately cut her off.
  • “I have to go.” Addy interrupted Serry's conversation. “I'm not comfortable in the same room with you,” he continued, without thinking about Serry's feelings.
  • Serry took a shaky breath at the scorchingly cold tone. She didn't hesitate to look at Addy sadly, while the Alpha still wouldn't look back at her.
  • Hesitantly, Serry cupped her Alpha's tanned cheeks to ask Addy to look back at her, even if only for a second. The Omega exhaled slowly, grateful that the Alpha would stare back at her, even with such a cold gleam.
  • “But I just came, Addy. Can you not go and be with me a little longer? Do you miss me?” asked Serry in a sad tone.
  • “I don't have time for useless things,” Addy replied.
  • The Omega froze, its retina bulging, at that answer. Feeling that the scratches in her heart are getting wider and wider at the painful words of her Alpha. Serry unconsciously got off Addy's lap and walked backwards. Her weak calf hit the leg of the chair that was right behind her.
  • “So, my being here is really useless to you? Does that mean you don't miss me at all, Addy? May I speak the truth for now.” Serry closed her eyes as she took a deep breath. “You really hurt my heart,” said Serry with misty eyes.
  • Addy snorted loudly and then looked away, as if he wasn't concerned about the state of Omega in front of him. Serry turned to sit in a chair with a blank stare fixed on her Alpha, who was now looking at the window with a twinkle of embarrassment. His displeasure at being here was really reflected in that gesture.
  • “My chest feels really tight right now. Every time I hear your words and your refusal, it's as if a dagger has pierced my heart,” Serry again said sadly. She desperately held back the clear liquid that had gathered in her eyelids so that it wouldn't fall on her cheeks. She felt that the Omega inside her had curled up and was crying bitterly in a corner, since her Alpha ignored her and spoke coldly without the slightest sense of guilt.
  • As if the wound in her heart wasn't enough right now, her attention was suddenly turned to the left hand's ring finger, which was not decorated with anything. There should be their engagement ring there; there should be a symbol of their binding there. However, what was she looking at right now? Why didn't Addy wear their engagement ring?
