- The figures stepped forward, their movements too smooth and too controlled, like predators approaching prey. My pulse pounded in my ears, every instinct screaming at me to turn and run, but my body refused to move.
- The moonlight filtered through the trees, casting just enough light for me to make out their forms. Three men, tall, broad and inhumanly beautiful. Each of them had a presence so overwhelming that my skin prickled, heat coiling low in my stomach despite the cold atmosphere.
