Chapter 45 Office Romance

• “Sit down and take your shoes off,” Cannon tells me, waving towards his bed. This room is unfamiliar to me, but as Cannon walks over to his large electric fireplace and flicks it on, the warmth of it soothes me. I do as he commands, sitting down and relaxing as much as I can while he moves about the room, undoing the first few buttons of his shirt as he goes.
• Finally, Cannon, who seems on edge, turns back to me. “I’m going to go and run you a hot bath. This is your last chance to tell me that you don’t want me to fuck you, Candace, because I’m nearly at the point of no return thinking about it.”
• Heat flushes my face and body, but even though I’m apprehensive and sort of terrified, I nod quickly. “I’m sure. Don’t make me second guess myself.”
