Chapter 2

  • Lucius was apprehensive. He was livid with the events that were taking place from few days and he was out to quench his thirst with the blood of ones who wronged his kin.
  • He would avenge every single one of them who had done such heinous deed against his kin.
  • He would find every one of them accountable no matter in which hole they were hiding.
  • As he walked through the dark alley of his estate, he found the closed space suffocating from the hurting memories of his past. It was a hidden cave behind his estate which only he knew about.
  • The cave was hidden well by the shields he ensconced with his powers. Striding deep into the dark cave which was lit by a fire logs hither and thither, he was welcomed by the silence to his displeasure.
  • He wanted to hear the screams of agony and pain but not the peaceful silence. As he strode faster into the depths of the cave where a room was located at the rare end, he found the man he hated so much tied up to a pole.
  • He was worried that the man may have lost his life but as he went close, he heard the faint sound of the man taking uneven breathes. That made Lucius pleasant.
  • Lucius was still not done with him as he was still itching to hurt him until all he could remember was pain and only pain.
  • "I was expecting you to wither in pain but look how disappointed you made me." Lucius spoke with sarcasm. His eyes were venomous when he noticed his prisoner jerk awake from his peaceful sleep.
  • He should not let his prisoner the luxury of sleep. He was preparation to make it his agenda to drown his prisoner in an ocean of misery and he would be taking pleasure of witnessing it with his own eyes.
  • The prisoner groaned as he felt the sensitiveness of his body again.
  • "How was the sleep, Knox Garrick?" Lucius asked as he sat himself on the chair before his prisoner. Knox groaned a good amount of time before he managed to raise his head up to look at the Lord.
  • Lucius's discontentment immediately turned into satisfaction when he looked at the face that was marred with scars and slashes. Knox looked paler and skinnier from the time he brought him there and the realization that he was the reason for his wretchedness was what keeping Lucius sane.
  • "I – " Knox tried to speak but his throat was dry and so was his mouth. He was not given any sort of food or water from many days. He was kept alive despite the food was by the Lord's magic. The Lord has used his magic to fill his body with enough energy to keep his alive and put up with all the pain given.
  • "Please" Knox whispered, gathering the least thread of the force he has in him. He wanted to get away from the Lord and see his daughter. His daughter was still in the capture of Lord Xander and Knox wanted to see her alive and fine.
  • "Where is Orla, Knox?" Lucius asked with a force of authority he held as a Lord of a realm and as a very powerful wizard. Knox shivered at the power of the Lord's authority that almost stumbled him back pathetically.
  • Lucius was ever so grateful to Lord Xander for capturing Knox Garrick and handing him over to him for his part of the torment.
  • "I – please. I do not- "
  • "You provide me with her whereabouts or not, you will still be here withering in pain instilled by me. Difference is how you choose to die. If Orla is found, I will end your pain and kill you in a moment; If not, you will be killed every moment you are alive. Choose Wisely, Knox."
  • Knox shook his head frantically to let the Lord know that he indeed have no idea where the woman, he was looking for, was. Knox himself wanted to search for the woman and get out the torment forever. Although he knew he was never getting out of there alive, he hoped – just hoped to escape and see his dear daughter just once.
  • "I do not know, Milord. I – assure you I have least idea where the woman in question is. I had only met her once and then never again had I saw her." Knox said truthfully with a hint of urgency in his voice. He wished for the understanding from the Lord's part.
  • Knox did not know yet why he was held captive and tortured by the Lord and he never dared to question him as the Lord was very possessed in giving him pain.
  • "Witch Madonna can help you with the search, My Lord. She was very familiar with community of the most powerful witches. She is capable in finding even the unknown body of a dead." Lucius eyes turned into splits at the mention of a young witch he met not four days ago.
  • How dare she ask for his sister's belongings! He was never going back for assistance ever. He would never let the young witch take benefit of his predicament.
  • Although he was attracted to the woman, he was also bothered by the effect her alluring ridicule has on him. He enjoyed the time with her, truthfully but he was a man on his mission to be thinking about the flavors of a woman. He needed to do what he ought to and he would never let someone stomp on his attempts or take gain out of him.
  • "Nah. I want to know likelihood to find her by a different source." Lucius argued as he confirmed his suspicion.
  • Knox does not know about Orla.
  • Now that he knew Knox was of no use in finding the woman, all the bad memories crashed at once making the hatred toward Knox intensify hundredfold.
  • Knox shook his head negatively as the realization of his impending doom following his answer. He wanted to stay alive to know what made the Lord capture him and personal see to it that he was suffering. He wanted answers before his impending death.
  • Lucius opened his palm and waved it before Knox with a force, resulting in him to scream in pain. Knox's hands were tied over his head to the pole so does his legs. He squirmed furiously at the pain of his insides burning.
  • It was a pure agony. It felt as if he was living just to die every moment.
  • Lucius smiled sickly at his prisoner who was screaming in pain and gave a satisfied grin to him. He held Knox's jaw in a strong grip and pushed it up to look into his coward eyes.
  • The extreme fear he noticed in his eyes did nothing but increase the hunger to torture him all over again and again.
  • "You want to know why you are here, Knox?" Lucius asked calmly taking all his time to get an answer as he proceeded to provoke more throbbing into his prisoner.
  • He smiled slyly when he did not get a reply. He was going to keep Knox alive until he find Orla and then he would give him a worst death possible after he was done with Orla.
  • Both of them would get what they deserved and none can save them from the monster they invoked inside him.
  • "You remember the little beautiful maiden you had forced sexually and killed?" At the mention, Knox gasped and gaped at the Lord who still has his smile intact on his dangerous looking face.
  • Why was he asking about that night?
  • What had the Lord to do with that night?
  • "You remember it, don't you?" Lucius sneered as he pressed his finger into Knox's skin, piercing it. "The night when you tormented a poor girl who was not guarded and forced her into cruelty." Knox whimpered as the cold sickness started settling in.
  • "Why –" Knox cried as another wave of pain hit him from inside.
  • "Do you know why that night has brought to this predicament?" Lucius asked and waited for a reply. Not getting any, he punched Knox square on his face and caught his face in a vile grip. "Because the girl who you tormented and murdered, so you could complete a ritual to be powerful, was my sister."
  • The venomous words stole the air out of his body. Knox did not know what was happening. He did not know that the girl who he had took to his bed forcefully that night, the girl who was halting in the grounds tired from her travel, the girl who had suffered death in his hands was his sister.
  • The realization dawned unto him making it apparent why he was in the circumstance.
  • That maiden was a Lady? She was Lord Lucius Emor's sister? How could something such that happen? How did Knox falter upon the Lady? He thought she was just a poor woman who was travelling with her companions. She looked poor and exhausted.
  • No, this cannot be happening!
  • "And Witch Orla will be suffering for leading you into the heinous act that night."
