Chapter 16 The Twist
- In a heart-wrenching twist, Mrs. Campbell swooped in just in the nick of time, preventing her husband from embarking on a grievous folly. With an air of affectionate, she said, "Emm, Emine dear, being with your family is a great way of protecting yourself. You know you have no one and Aiden isn't around to protect you too. We will help you manage the money in order not to misuse it." She said lovingly.
- But Emine, displaying a wisdom well beyond her years, reminded her father of a painful truth. She spoke with a composed demeanor, crossing her legs as she asserted her independence, "Ha! Have you forgotten that you and grandfather publicly disowned me seven years ago? They made it clear that I am no longer a part of this family. Have you conveniently forgotten about that, Father?" Her words were laden with a tinge of sadness, yet she remained resolute. "And for your information, I am twenty-six years old—I am not a child. I am more than capable of managing my own finances. And here's another demand: I expect a detailed calculation of every penny I've earned since childhood."
- Her father's anger surged forth, gripping his chest as he struggled to contain his fury. "You!" he exclaimed, his voice trembling with rage. "Have you seen your precious daughter, Mother? Look at how disrespectful she has become!"
