- I leaned forward a little to test the perfume, instinctively reaching up to steady Lyndsey's arm. It did smell nice and I nodded my agreement, looking along the length of Lyndsey's arm. Then our eyes met -- and fused, each holding the other's gaze, reluctant to look away just as I was suddenly unwilling to release Lyndsey's wrist. I could feel hidden meanings travelling between our two faces, and I spotted the confusion followed by alarm, followed by a hint of arousal, that flitted across Lyndsey's face, and I knew my face mirrored the same.
- 'Yes, lovely.' I murmured, unsure even to myself if I meant the scent or the look.
- Lyndsey gently pulled her arm free and we stood facing each other, each uncertain what was happening and each uncertain how, or even if, we should continue. I wished I was somewhere else, somewhere safe, and then again I was glad I wasn't. Confusion overwhelmed me.
