- We packed a backpack with some lunch and some bottles of water, as well as our camera. We agreed to take turns in carrying the back and set off.
- Following Ed's map we soon turned off the main path and began to climb a narrow steep path. After a while the path widened out, working its way through a pine forest. We passed one couple, middle aged, who were coming down but no one else.
- We stopped regularly for rest and water. As we walked we separated slightly. Ben the athletic one had no problem maintaining a steady pace. Luke fell a bit further behind then I dragged along last.
