• I slowly opened my eyes as a ray of sunlight hit my face through the window of my room. My eyes immediately met the wooden ceiling of my room. My lips curled into a smile as I realized how incredibly good my sleep was, something I hadn’t experienced in a while.
• Before my mind could fully regain its clarity, my smile quickly faded as I realized something. My eyes widened, and I quickly sat up on the bed. I looked to the right side of the bed, but there was no one beside me.
