• “You’re not going to push me out of his heart by using his son,” Vespera spat, glaring at her mother-in-law, a woman she had grown to hate over the years. Ever since her father abandoned her, Eve had been encouraging her son to take another wife and divorce her. But Max had always been reluctant.
