Chapter 37 "I Won't Let You Fail"

• "Come with me." He instructed. I watched in complete horror. He pulled one hand away from the ladder and out to me. With shaking hands, and absolutely no common sense, I took his hand and he hoisted me up onto the ledge.
• I steadied myself against the ledge and laughed a nervous laugh before looking down to the water. "Oh dear God." I looked back at him. "What if we fall?"
• "Don't." He said simply and started climbing, I held firmly onto the pillar and watched the water. Even when Christiano wasn't trying to kill me, I was pretty sure I was going to die. I held my breath and reached around the pillar until I found the ladder. It was steel and so, so cold against my hand.
