Chapter 159 Elic Had Stories About His Father

  • She laughed and said, "I was heart broken and I wanted to be seen as if I was a strong woman. I couldn't act like a weak person, I did not want him to see that I was hurting. I also did not want to see him taking my baby. I had already lost Elic and I was not planning on losing another one. The Hart family were not happy to see that I was pregnant especially after knowing the person responsible for the pregnancy. I was even considering resigning because of seeing that they were not happy about my pregnancy. But they changed when I was five months. I do not know what had made them to change. They started treating me like a queen. I was very confused about the sudden change. But since I was heart broken, I was easily deceived by their sudden change. And the day he left me bleeding to death in that dilapidated building I finally understood. I understood why they took extra care of me, I understood why they always insisted that I take my pregnancy supplements. I was such a fool. I did not see it coming. I did not even realize that his wife was not pregnant. If he had not told me while taking my child, I wouldn't have known that they had been faking the pregnancy. They had been planning all along to steal my baby from me. And I did not even notice that her pregnancy was a fake even though I was living in the same house with them. But I couldn't fight them back because I was a very poor woman who had nothing on her name. I also did not know anyone that could help me. I also could not afford to be seen on public for fear of being seen by the woman that had placed a scar on my face. I was ready to die but your grandmother came to me the moment I closed my eyes and told me that I should fight back. His grandson will need me. After hearing those words, I opened my eyes and saw two boys in front of me. One had his hands on both my shoulders and asking me to wake up, they have called an ambulance. I will be receiving help very soon. They asked who I was but I was too weak to answer. I only remember telling them that they should not call the ambulance but I passed out before I could make them hear the words I was muttering. Telling them my name was not as important as telling them not to call the ambulance. But they did not hear what I was saying. When I opened my eyes, the doctor was in front of me. He told me that he has not called the police yet, but he is obligated to call them after discovering that I had just given birth and the child was nowhere near where they found me. I begged him not to call the police. I confessed to have given birth but if the police find my baby then I am dead. I told him that the people that stole my baby are better off thinking that I was dead than for them to know that I am still alive. They will come back to finish me off. I told him that their intentions were to kill me and they thought they succeeded. They shouldn't know that I survived. I pleaded with him and he understood. He then asked his assistant to help me get up, I came out of the hospital through the back doors. He took me to the village that you found me living in. He did explain that the paramedics were the first people that came to the scene, so no matter how much I beg him. It was too late because he was not the only one that handled me. And that was the reason why they sneaked me out through the back doors. I am still alive because of those men and the doctor. If the doctor had not hidden me in that village, I probably would be dead. No matter how much I wished to be a part of your lives, I just couldn't risk it. You guys were better off without me, I would be putting you in danger if I was around you. I only agreed to come back because he told me that the Hart couple was arrested. And I also told myself that you are now a grown man, I can tell you why I left you. I was also able to come because he promised that the Smith family will protect me. I know that they are more powerful to protect me from that evil woman. I know that I should have fought but I think I am around people that know the system better than I do. We all know that you are better safe and protected when you have a certain status in the society. And for someone like me, who was only a stripper before meeting your father. There is nothing that I can say that could be heard by anyone. Your father tried to defend me around the people closest to him. No matter how much he told them that I was a virgin when he met me. Nobody believed him. I lost both my parents at a young age. My aunt told me when I was sixteen that she can not waste money paying for my school fees. I am at an age that was ready for marriage. In my village there was an old rich man that had more than ten wives. Any family that had no money and needed a source of income to survive would give out their daughter to the man. The day I ran away was the day I was to be taken to him. I vowed to never come back to the village. When I came to the city, I knew no one. I had no place to stay and I slept on the streets. I met a woman that promised to give me a job. She took me into her house then a few days later she introduced me to girls that were practically naked. It took me some time to loosen up. But one girl told me the harsh reality and when I thought about going back to the streets and having no blanket to cover me when it was winter. I preferred to work for the woman. A day after I had started working I met your father. When he first met me he said, 'you do not look like a lady that deserves to be a stripper. And I have been in this club for quite a while. You are new, where are you coming from?' I was not able to reply to him because my boss came towards us. They had an argument with him and he paid a huge sum of money just to have me for one night. But he did not touch me, he did not even show signs of wanting to touch me. When we woke up in the morning, he asked about where I was coming from and how I got into the club. I told him the whole story and that was the day he went back to my boss and paid a million dollars to have me. When my boss declined the money, he started black mailing him. I do not know what he black mailed him with, but I did see him shaking and telling his men to release me. That was how I left the club, hardly a week after being hired. I am grateful to have met that man. I do not know what I would have been without his help. When he died, a part of me was buried with him. I do not know if your grandmother told you but I was rushed to the hospital a week after he was buried due to the fact that I had not eaten or drank anything for days and I was too weak to even lift a finger."
  • Elic asked, "you had me when you were sixteen?"
  • Faith rolled her eyes, after everything that the poor woman has said. This is the only thing he seems to care about.
