• "It's Christmas Eve today, lady. You didn't know?" The shock in Frank's voice is quite clear.
• "It's—What?" There's no way it's been three or four months since I've been brought here. How did I not know it was already Christmas Eve. I literally looked at the calendar this morning. Time seems to be slipping from my mind. "I'm so sorry I didn't get you a present, Frank. It's probably too late to shop now too."
• "I wasn't expecting anything," he replies flatly. I chuckle, "I know you weren't but I would like to give you something. I promise I'll have something for you and Charlotte after stores reopen again; it would be a late Christmas present."
