Chapter 15 I Feel Nothing

• The rays of sunlight pierced through the curtains like sharp blades, cutting through the dim haze of the room and flooding my vision. I groaned, shifting on the leather couch, and instinctively raised my arm to shield my face from the invasive light. My body felt heavy, as though weighed down by an invisible force.
• Slowly, I pushed myself upright, blinking against the light. A frown etched itself onto my face as an unsettling sensation washed over me-a feeling so foreign, so wrong, that it made my skin crawl.
