• I rushed down to the dungeon where we kept rogues or hardened criminals accompanied by Jonathan, Brian, and Judith. I asked Judith to stay back, but she insisted on going with us so she could confirm whether it was indeed witchcraft or something else.
• “Alpha!” Everyone greeted me simultaneously as I reached the dungeon. It was the smell of blood that hit my nostrils at first. The fact that we haven’t had many hostages kept in there in the past few months showed that the men I kept there the day before were indeed dead.
