Chapter 3 The Lycan Twins

  • CHAPTER 3. The twins
  • The figure was huge. With a toned muscular build. The wind blew at his long hair. His blue orbs pierced through the crowd, and a chill enveloped everyone.
  • “Is…isn't that…”
  • Dread settled on every one's spine, as they stared wide eyed at the figure.
  • He moved to the side, and a carbon copy of him appeared beside him.
  • “Oh, heavens!" A middle aged woman shrieked, “What are the Lycan Twins doing here? Oh goddess, have mercy!”
  • The twins began to make their way forward, and the crowd instantly parted to make way for them.
  • Without missing a step, they stormed forward, until they got to the guillotine. However, Alycia was now unconscious.
  • One of the twins quickly reached forward, and scooped her in his arms.
  • *****
  • It was approaching dusk. And the pack square was empty. In a guest room in the palace, Alycia laid on a bed, face flat.
  • She sat up suddenly, recalling the earlier events, her eyes frantically scanning the room. But then she blinked. Her back hurts, and she flexed her body, wondering how she had gotten in here. How had she managed to heal so fast? For werewolves, they do have high healing capabilities, but when silver is used on them, it takes a whole lot to time to heal.
  • The room was a bit dark and the blinds were all down. Realizing she was no longer in the square, amidst those angry crowds, she quickly stood.
  • As she turned towards the door, she shrieked. Her eyes settling on a figure in the dark room, sitting adjacent to her, watching her in silence.
  • Alycia scurried away, almost losing her footing in the process. She hasn't seen them when they walked through the crowd.
  • But the faint streaks of light reflection into the room was enough to get a glimpse of the intruder's face.
  • The Lycan Twins?
  • She shuddered and a shiver ran down her spine.
  • She felt her heart beating erratically in her rib cage, as she took a protective step backwards.
  • “What…” She cleared her throat, and squared her shoulders, “What are…you doing here?"
  • The Lycan Twins were rivals to their pack. And as Princess and former heir to the throne, her father had taught and made her understand every single thing in the pack. He had let her attend meetings and delegations.
  • The first and last time she had seen the Lycan twins was when she was a little girl, and had only caught a glimpse of them.
  • The one standing before her hadn't changed one bit. Still as young as ever.
  • One thing was certain. If the Lycan Twins were indeed here, then all was not well.
  • They are ruthless. Scary. They cause problem and chaos wherever they stepped foot.
  • There was a reason her father warned her to steer clear of them in whatever she does in the future.
  • The man stood abruptly, his piercing blue eyes pinning her in place. Aly is stumbled backwards, her instincts screaming at her to run.
  • She heard a click behind her, and the door opened. But as she turned, she bumped into a rock hard chest.
  • “Where are you off to, baby girl?" A different, yet chilling voice resonated in her. Piercing grey eyes stared back at her and she literally froze.
  • Those eyes….
  • “What do you want?" She shuddered, moving away from him, with icy eyes.
  • “We are here to offer you a deal."
  • Her brows shot up, " And you think I would blindly strike a deal with….you both?”
  • “You don't have a choice, sweetheart! You should be thankful to us for saving your life. You would be dead meat by now."
  • She blinked, but masked her expression.
  • " Save my life? I didn't recall asking you to save my life!”
  • The twin ran a hand over his long hair, as he chuckled and took a step forward.
  • “We want you. In exchange for your freedom. We have the power to set you free, baby girl. But only if you agree to our terms.”
  • Alycia scoffed in disbelief. The twin had moved from the door and she followed his movements, watching, and then she dashed towards the door.
  • She had gotten to her door, and was about to twist the knob, when strong hands grabbed her by the waist, and she felt a warm breath on her neck, “Not so fast, Princess…”
  • She turned, her eyes widening, as she realized it was the other twin who had been watching her earlier.
  • Alycia felt her world stop as she stared up at him closely.
  • His eyes….oh goddess…
  • They were so blue. She hadn't seen such chiseled features and strong jawline.
  • Her eyes stared at his glossy pink lips. It was…perfect.
  • Unlike his brother, he had his jet black hair tied up in a ponytail, accentuating his chiseled features.
  • “Where are you headed, little mouse?” he whispered in her ears.
  • She felt another hand on her back and she jerked, undecided on who to face.
  • Turning slightly, her eyes met the other twin, staring down at her with a playful smirk on his lips.
  • It was suddenly so hot in the room. She felt heat all over her body.
  • He leaned in, and Alycia almost forgot how to breath.
  • “Be ours," he whispered, again, " In exchange for your freedom!
  • And then she recoiled, letting in a sharp breath as she moved away from them.
  • “I…I..”
  • Their voices were calm. So calm, but the look in their eyes were so cold, she was literally holding herself back from screaming her lungs out.
  • “ Or we can easily send you back to the guillotine and watch the pack kill you for a crime you committed?”
  • “I didn't do it!" Alycia found herself yelling.
  • " Oh, we do not care, Princess." The other twin spoke, rolling his eyes.
  • Alycia huffed, amazed by the request they'd just made. They must be really delusional to think she would have anything to do with them.
  • She took a deep breath, and faced them squarely, mustering all confidence she had, “I'd rather die than to have anything to…"
  • She paused, feeling a shiver run down her spine as she recalled the moment she had actually almost died.
  • Her fingers clenched, nails digging into her palms, as she wondered what would have become of her if they hadn't arrived at the right time.
  • Alycia shook her head as her gaze rested on the twin before her. She stared at the other as well, suddenly realizing how powerful they were.
  • She needed to get to the bottom of this. Her parents were dead. And she was falsely accused and almost beheaded. She felt grateful for the twins saving her life.
  • And then she shut her eyes and took a deep breath. Slowly, she raised her chin up.
  • “Fine”, she blurted, her eyes trailing from the first twin to the second.
  • The twins looked at each other and a smirk formed on their lips.
  • “Good! Now, let us deal with that mate of yours, shall we?
