Chapter 67

• I went home that night to have dinner with the family after work, seeing that Jane left just before us. We weren’t watching her get to the bus anymore, and I didn’t like that, but it seemed to be what she wanted. She lived here for a while now and had a system. After dinner, I sent Del some dirty messages and got off that way from the comfort of my own bed with a box of tissues. It wasn’t ideal, but it would do, and I’d get some damn sleep.
• The weeks passed slowly before everyone was talking about the trip the following week since half of the office was going. Everyone looked forward to this, and the fun was had due to the work time and play time was equally divided. All our managers were going and some of their assistants, all staying in the same hotel. That could get interesting, though I wanted nobody in the office more than I wanted Jane. She seemed to be warming up to us a little, being friendly and even working with us in the office since we both backed off. Jane asked us a few things about these trips, and I was honest about the fact that they got a bit indecent. The blush on her face was worth it. She didn’t seem at all like the type to be involved with that kind of thing, but it was fun to embarrass her.
