Chapter 43 Guarding Against Heartbreak

• We got back to Los Angeles. When we returned to our house, Marcus and I became even closer. He always has conversations with me, and we always hug each other. I couldn't believe that we would reach this point, feeling Marcus' love for me. I have some doubts, but the joy of what happened and my love for Marcus prevail.
• "This is your second time having a birth control shot, Evelyn. Do you and your husband have no plans of having a child?" my doctor asked me.
• I took a deep breath after we finished my shots. I immediately went to my doctor for a regular checkup and my shots because the three months were over. I didn't skip this day for my shots, and I am willing to do it again. Even though Marcus loves me, I am not yet ready to get pregnant— not now. I know that when Marcus finds out, he'll understand. I need to fix myself first before deciding to become a mother. I still have a lot to learn, and when I have a child, I want to give everything to my child without any shortcomings, just like how I want my child to be like me. I smiled at my doctor and nodded.
