Chapter 19 - Another Meeting
- When I wake up, the rising sun is streaming through my window where I forgot to close the curtains, and my head is throbbing. I move the papers off my lap and climb out of bed, staggering to the bathroom where I catch a glimpse of my dishevelled self in the mirror above the sink, my hair is like a birds nest on top of my head, my neck looks raw with a clear handprint and there is a spectacular bruise on my forehead. My wolf is healing me, but it has only been a few hours, so there is still more work for her to do.
- I go to go into the shower and use the hottest water I can tolerate, letting it cascade down my body, helping to soother away the aches and pains. After a few minutes, I wash my hair, using liberal amounts of conditioner, then leave the cubicle. I face the mirror again and grimace at the marks left upon my body.
- After tackling my hair into submission, I climbed back into bed hoping for a little more sleep, but before I closed my eyes to the sun, I read the notes I made last night to check if I got the most important bits down. The writing was messy, the sentences were a little jumbled. I guess the blow to my head affected me more than I realised. Setting the paper down again, I decided I would use these as a guide and compose the true letter once I was more rested. Then I lay down snuggled under the huge fluffy blanket and went back to sleep.
