Chapter 24
- JUDY’S POV
- When I regained consciousness, my head throbbed, and my vision was blurry. I was no longer outside. The cold air of the abandoned warehouse gnawed at my skin, making the shadows seem darker and the room feel smaller.
- The faint smell of rust and mildew hung heavy, and the flickering light of a single bulb overhead created an atmosphere straight out of a nightmare. My wrists burned where the coarse ropes dug into my skin, but it was nothing compared to the seething anger and humiliation bubbling inside me.
