• Dade spent several hours finding the metal countertop Cora wanted. It took longer haggling with the salesman than he’d have liked. He was in the wrong business, he decided. He needed to sell household appliances and accessories.
• Shaking his head, he closed the door and started his van. Grabbing his phone, he punched in Chris’s number and waited until the receptionist tracked him down and put him through.
