• The next day, Sasha showed me how to use the webcam on my laptop in order to video conference, including how to connect it to my email to receive the call.
• “Thanks,” I said, forcing a smile even though I was exhausted. I’d been up half the night tossing and turning after leaving myself so on edge. I was pretty sure my friend didn’t know what she’d interrupted me doing the night before, but I still hadn’t been able to meet her eyes that day.
