- It was settled then. Layton and I were to attend the board meeting together and we were also supposed to be each other’s dates for the party that was to be held after all the meetings.
- “Do you think it would really be wise to take the kids along?” I queried. “This is a board meeting and not the Alphas ball. I wouldn't like to leave them in the apartment alone all day.”
