• I stood at the threshold of the grand hall, watching Kai's body pressed against the woman's, I felt a different kind of chill altogether. The bottle of water, Nathan had offered me after we walked away from the dance floor and I was grateful for him just standing beside me without saying a word.
• A new song started to play and I watched miserably as Kai moved with the woman. Both of them glided around the dancing floor like dancing experts.
