Chapter 14 French Twist

• Perspiration drips down June’s back and it’s hard for her to catch her breath. Paul has been with her all evening, and this makes her nervous. She excuses herself to go to the powder room so that she could take a breather from him.
• When she feels like this, it’s usually because something bad is about to happen. She saw that her hair is starting to come loose from the French twist that she had so carefully pinned up this afternoon. She decided to just unfurl it and let her hair hang loose.
• Derek loves her hair, but Paul is always asking her to pin it up as it gets in his way when he’s kissing her. She misses Derek.
