- Jason's POV
- I was perplexed by a tiny flicker of feeling that was definitely not of my own. Although I didn't feel it, I assumed I was terrified and sad. There was a reason why I ought to be, too. It was nothing to be frightened of to have breakfast at a table with only two other people, particularly since one of them was expecting. I felt as if a thread was pulling at my heart, telling me that something wasn't right. My phone began to ring in my pocket at that moment, and when I took it out, their name was displayed.
