• Eloisa’s voice faded into the air as I stared at her pained expression. I didn’t know what made her ask that, but I was relieved she seemed back to her normal self. Asking questions, doubting my actions, and not trusting anyone easily like when she agreed to stay with me while in desperate need of protection from Jack.
• I could have taken advantage of her… use her as leverage against Jack to expand my power. But those wouldn’t be what I wanted… It was her. I wanted to know her better and see how long a human like her could keep struggling in the world dominated by werewolves… I wanted her light illuminating this world ruled by power.
