Chapter 96 Agreement Of Alpha
- Yes. Over the next three days, additional Lycans showed up. There would be one or occasionally two. They all had the same objective—trying to transcend the boundaries—even if they never showed up in the same location. They didn't get very far. Perhaps a meter or two before being ripped to pieces. While some had already changed, others attempted to transform into humans. None of the ones that were unshifted were familiar to me. Additionally, bite marks discovered during an examination of their bodies proved they were not pure Lycans. Alpha Dane was also becoming increasingly irate. In an attempt to decide what to do next, he paced more and spoke to himself—or rather, to Aero.
- He was also yelling at everyone else if he wasn't speaking to Aero. However, I was concerned that these Wolves might experience burnout. With only a few hours of respite in between, Jenson had them working nonstop, and we would be in serious trouble if they started to collapse. I had to stay by Alpha Danes' side, though. I knew he would blame himself if someone got hold of me, but he never mentioned it. "He's doing it once more." Nyx murmurs. I glance up from the children's book I'm meant to be reading.
- Alpha Dane is wearing a severe frown as he walks around the desk in a circle. The soft gray carpet was nearly scorched by his feet. "It doesn't make any sense." I couldn't tell if he was speaking to Aero or to me. I turn my attention back to the book and mentally sound out the letters. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't say much. I have no experience with this. I catch him picking up the strange tiny paperweight that rests on the corner of his desk out of the corner of my eye. At the wall, he throws it. I shrink and shudder at the deed.
