Chapter 8 The Interview

• (That same night)
• (At Rita's apartment)
• "How can people be so heartless. I mean, why would she tell your boss to fire you just because you made a mistake. Who doesn't make mistakes?" Alexa said angrily.
• She actually arrived some minutes ago when Rita called her and told her of how she was fired at Miss Moore's party.
• Alexa was infuriated when Rita explained what happened.
• "Calm down Alexa, I'll get another job" Rita calmed her friend.
• "But that was too mean of the so called Miss Moore, that was so mean. Just because she is wealthy doesn't mean she can do whatever she likes" Alexa ranted as she paced to and fro.
• "Let's forget about it Alexa. I'll go and prepare some coffee for us" Rita said then she walked to the kitchen.
• "If I ever lay my hands on that so called Miss Moore, I'll beat the hell out of her skinny body" Alexa hisses then she took her phone and logged in to her instagram account.
• The first feed she saw was by L brothers Tech company. They posted an online vacancy for the position of a secretary.
• "Rita!!" Alexa screamed.
• "What happened Alexa? Are you alright?" Rita asked in fear as she rushed out of the kitchen.
• "Of course I'm fine" Alexa replied.
• Rita breathed in relief when she saw no sign of danger.
• "Then why did you screan like that?" Rita asked.
• "I'm sure you've heard of the company named L brothers tech company, right?" Alexa asked in reply.
• "Yeah, what's up with them?" Rita asked with an unconcerned look.
• "They posted on instagram that they are in need of a new secretary and the interview is tomorrow morning!" Alexa exclaimed with a smile on her face but the smile faded when she saw how unconcerned hee friend was.
• "What's wrong Rita? You should be happy that you've found another job opportunity but you're not. What's wrong?" Alexa asked.
• "Did I forget to mention the name of the man on whose tuxedo I spilled juice on at Miss Moore's party?" Rita asked.
• "You didn't mention the man's name" Alexa replied.
• "The name of that man is Mr Ferguson a.k.a Lucifer" Rita said and Alexa's eyes widened in surprise.
• (At Lucifer's Mansion)
• "I still don't understand how that waitress is related to all these. How can someone you know nothing about trouble your mind?" Lucien said.
• "That's the main point. I know nothing about her yet I defended her when Miss Moore said she fired her. All these shits started happening to me ever since I saw her face" Lucifer ruffled his hair in frustration.
• "There maybe a probability that she is your soulmate" Lucien said.
• Lucifer raised his brows at him when he said that.
• "I am not saying she is your soulmate. All I'm just saying that there might be a possibility that she is your soulmate" Lucien cconcluded.
• There was silence afterwards. None of them said anything as they stated at the moon.
• "3000 years ago, if anyone told me that all these shits were gonna happen to me, I would have probably laughed at such person. But here I am, facing the shits I never expected" Lucifer said with a sad smile.
• "It's gonna be fine bro. Just get some rest and cool off your head. Goodnight." Lucien patted his back gently and walked out of his room.
• Lucifer remained in his position. He kept staring at the sky like it had the solutions to his problems.
• "Soulmate" he muttered.
• (At Rita's apartment)
• "Make sure you get enough rest" Alexa said as she carried her bag.
• "I will" Rita replied.
• She and Alexa walked to the door then Alexa stopped on her tracks.
• "And one more thing" she said.
• "What?"
• "Promise me you'll apply for the job vacancy at L brothers tech company" Alexa said.
• "Even if I apply for the job and go for the interview, how sure am I that he'll not get angry when he sees my face" Rita replied.
• "There's nothing bad in trying" Alexa persuaded.
• "Alright then, I'll go for the interview tomorrow" Rita agreed.Alexa hugged her.
• "I'm sure you'll get the job and don't forget to get enough rest because you look stressed out" Alexa said as she walked out of the apartment.
• "Okay, goodnight" Rita waved as Alexa boarded a taxi. She watched as the taxi drove off then she returned inside and locked the door.
• She walked to her window and a smile appeared on her face when she saw how bright the moon was shining.
• "The moon looks beautiful tonight" she said then she closed her window. She walked to her bed then she laid on it and covered herself with a duvet.
• She closed her eyes then she drifted off to sleep.
• - The Next Morning -
• The bright rays of sunlight reflected on Rita's face. She opened her eyes slowly then she say upright and yawned lazily while stretched her body.
• She got down from the bed and did the usual morning routine (brushing and taking her bath).
• She wore a blue gown and a pair of black sandals. She brushed her hair backwards and applied a little amount of lip gloss on her lips.
• She checked the time on her wristwatch and it was almost time for the interview at L brothers tech company.
• She quickly prepared a cup of tea and gulped the whole content down her throat.
• She rushed out of her apartment then she locked the door and kept the key in her handbag.
• She boarded a taxi and told the driver her destination.
• The taxi came to halt in front of L brothers tech company. She paid the taxi driver then she hurriedly got down from the vehicle.
• She sighed as she stared at the gigantic white building in front of her.
• "You've got this Rita" she assured herself. She walked towards the entrance where she met two hefty guards.
• "Good morning sirs, I am here for the interview" she said with a smile on her face.
• The security men scanned her then they opened the door.
• She walked in and a "wow" escaped her lips as she stared at the beauty of the company.
• She hurriedly walked to the reception where she met a young man.
• "Good morning ma'am, how may I be of service to you?" The man asked with a smile.
• "I came here for the interview" she replied and man nodded.
• "Here's your tag number" the man said then he handed her a tag.
• Rita's eyes widened when she saw the number on the tag.
• "Number 20!" She exclaimed and the man nodded.
• "You're so lucky because that's the last tag number. The boss said that only the first twenty candidates are the ones that would be interviewed" The man said and Rita smiled.
• "Where will I be interviewed?" Rita asked.
• "Take the elevator to the fifth floor, you'll see the remaining candidates who also came for the interview. When your tag number is being called, you will go inside the CEO's office for the interview" the young man explained.
• "Thanks a lot" Rita thanked him. She walked to the elevator and pressed a button. The elevator opened then Rita walked in and pressed the fifth floor button.
• The elevator closed and she waited patiently as the elevator took her to the fifth floor.
• After what seemed like forever, the elevator got to the fifth floor and door opened.
• Rita stepped out and she sighted the other people who also came for the interview.
• She walked towards them and sat down beside a lady. Rita was nervous. She watched as others went inside the office when their tag numbers were being called.
• It was only a matter of time before she would also step inside that office.
• She was nervous that she would be seeing the man she spilled juice on his cloth the previous night.
• "Number 19" a voice called. The lady who sat beside her, stood up and walked inside the office.
• Rita's nervousness doubled. Her forehead was covered in sweats even though the air conditioning system of the company was working perfectly.
• A minute later, the lady who went inside the office for the interview, walked out with a sad face.
• "Number 20" she finally heard her tag number. She felt really anxious and nervous at the same time. Was she ready meet him again?
