• The friends observed Marco a little suspiciously and asked him what he was up to; they noticed that something was not right because one of them proposed to stay in the garden all night to talk about trivial things; however, Marco refused the idea.
• -It's nothing, well, actually I'm worried about a case I'm having a hard time solving at the law firm. -He lied, for he would not say that he had summoned the young cook there.
