Chapter 6 I Do Not Want You Anymore

  • “What's the meaning of this, Sienna? You've completely lost it!”
  • Roger's eyes widened as he roared in fury.
  • A flicker of smugness crossed Isabella's face, but in the next moment, she put on a teary, pitiful expression.
  • She stepped forward, grasping my hand with an earnest look.
  • “Sienna, please don't be mad. It's all my fault. These chores should've been my responsibility in the first place. Don't take it out on Roger. He works so hard at the office every day. I feel so bad for him.”
  • Roger's anger toward me only intensified after hearing her words.
  • I chuckled. Looking at Isabella's aggrieved expression, I said softly, “What brand of trash bag are you? You're impressively good at holding garbage. Only someone as brainless as Roger would actually fall for someone like you.”
  • Isabella froze, her face turning an ugly shade of purple before she stammered in a wounded tone, asking what I meant.
  • I was just about to press on when suddenly, my children rushed over, spreading their arms to shield Isabella.
  • They shouted in unison, forbidding me from bullying “Ms. Sutton.”
  • I took a deep breath, crouched down, and gazed at their young, innocent faces. In a calm voice, I said, “Lucas, Joyce, I am your mommy.”
  • My daughter tilted her head. In her childlike voice, she said sharply, “No, you're not our mommy! You're just a mean woman who bullies Ms. Sutton!”
  • Lucas nodded firmly and threw his arms around Isabella.
  • “Ms. Sutton, you're so much kinder and prettier than that mean woman. You should be our mommy instead!”
  • Though Isabella's eyes were filled with glee, she pretended to look flustered.
  • The heart-wrenching pain of betrayal by my own children, something I had endured in my previous life, washed over me once again.
  • Enough.
  • At that moment, the last thread of hope I'd clung to snapped.
  • I nodded and turned around decisively.
  • “From today onward, I don't want either of you anymore.”
