Chapter 6 Tantalizing Little Witch, Where You Running Off To? (Part 1)

  • Lin Xiaoxue glanced at a nearby black-clothed man. Their gazes locked onto one another, and she quickly looked downward. She controlled her breathing, and just like any other normal hotel staff worker, she carried her cleaning equipment and walked out of the hotel under the watchful eyes of the guards.
  • About ten meters from the hotel lobby were guests getting on and off the sightseeing car. She hurried and got on.
  • “Yo, can’t take employees....”
  • “Please, it’s urgent! My family’s waiting for me at the bottom!” Lin Xiaoxue pitifully looked at the driver.”
  • “No next time.....” They were both coworkers, so there was no point in making it difficult for her. The driver then motioned Lin Xiaoxue to sit at the back of the sightseeing car and not to disturb the guests.
  • Just as Lin Xiaoxue had hopped onto the car and was on her way down the mountain to the city center, the security system had the entire hot spring hotel on lockdown.
  • Lin Xiaoxue was looking for Xiao Xiao, her childhood best friend whom she treated like a sister.
  • Xiao Xiao was her only friend who had not attended her wedding because she knew that Lin Xiaoxue was forced against her will to marry. Xiao Xiao was the only one who knew about the grief in her heart.
  • Xiao Xiao leapt in fright at the sight of Lin Xiaoxue standing outside her door.
  • The driver’s downstairs waiting. Pay for my fee first.” Lin Xiaoxue pointed downstairs and dragged her fatigued body inside the tiny, single-room apartment.
  • “How did you get here? You’re not marrying anymore?” Xiao Xiao recovered from her surprise, grabbed her wallet, and asked.”
  • “There has to be another way. Why must I marry?” Lin Xiaoxue coldly snorted at the thought of Ye Yifan the bastard.
  • “Then what about Uncle and Aunty?”
  • “.....” It was because she had cared too much about her parents. In the end, she could not fight on.
  • Thanks to this escape, she had become the world’s most unfilial daughter.
  • Pain had Xiaoxue’s petite face scrunched up in. Xiao Xiao dared not to say any more. She headed downstairs with her wallet in hand.
  • Lin Xiaoxue opened the closet doors, retrieved a set of clean clothes, and headed to the bathroom.
  • She briefly showered, washing away the faint smell of blood on her body.
  • Today had been one of the darkest days that she had to go through.
  • After she had changed into clean clothes and bandaged her injured hand, Xiao Xiao returned.
  • “Why did it take you so long?” She casually asked.
  • “Oh, the elevator’s broken. I walked up.” Xiao Xiao fanned herself with her hand, gasped loudly for air, plopped herself down in the chair, and watched Lin Xiaoxue busy away.
  • “You always say that these clothes don’t look good on you, so you haven’t worn them much. I’ll take them then. Also, lend me some money. Once I settle down and earn money, I’ll pay you back.” Lin Xiaoxue determinedly decided and relayed this to her best friend. She then stuffed the clothes into an old backpack.
  • “Where are you going?” Xiao Xiao queried.
  • “Don’t know. I’ll run away as far as this road takes me.”
  • “What about your parents?”
  • “I’ll.... I’ll come back.” The problem needed to be resolved anyway. Lin Xiaoxue couldn’t be on the run forever.
  • “Are you hungry? I’ll make some food for you.”
  • “If Ye Yifan finds out that I have already escaped from hotel, he will investigate those whom I’m friends with. I’ll leave shortly after.”
  • With a few thousand dollars and simple luggage, Lin XiaoXue and Xiao Xiao went to the train station.
  • Sadly, she had miscalculated. She had never thought that Ye Yifan and his thugs had already been there waiting for her. Two thugs grabbed her each by the arm and stuffed her inside the black Rolls Royce.
  • Ye Yifan, still donning the groom’s suit, sat on the other side of the car seat. There was a hint of cold light in his narrow eyes as he scanned her.
  • Lin Xiaoxue turned around to past the window at Xiao Xiao who stood behind the men in black. Her eyes grew dewy.
  • Xiao Xiao, who had stood with her this whole time, had betrayed her?!
  • Her parents had used her to pay off their loans, and even her best friend had betrayed her! Who else in this world did she have to rely on?
