• Kate had spent the night with Doctor Bernard and was speeding back to the office when she got a phone call from her husband. Quickly, she stepped on the brake and brought the car to a halt.
• She shut her eyes and gazed upon the phone which had started ringing repeatedly. She turned around, thinking Frank had seen her leave the hotel, but she was sure nobody saw her.
