Chapter 20

• “Why the fuck are you sharing a couch with my pet?” Rafael's voice cuts through the room like a knife, silencing everyone. All eyes turn to him, the jovial atmosphere evaporating instantly. Miguel pales visibly, the anger in Rafael's eyes clearly rattling him. He quickly jumps to his feet, realizing how close he'd gotten to me and Danny during his playful tussle with Julio.
• “Capo,” Pedro greets, his voice steady as he tries to diffuse the tension. Rafael barely spares him a glance before turning his attention back to Miguel.
• Pointing to a couch at the far end of the room, Rafael barks, “Put your fucking ass there.” Miguel doesn't argue, hurrying to comply with the order.
