Chapter 23 Step Family

• Lucius’s driver reached the manor and drove into the driveway, stopping at the entrance door. The driver came out and opened the door for him. Lucius came out and scanned the surroundings; a lot of things had changed since the last time he came. A dark glint appeared in his eyes as he went to the flowers planted in pots beside the entrance door. What was there before were black roses, which were his mother’s favourite, but now they had been replaced by red ones.
• “How pathetic,” he muttered before heading to the entrance door, while his driver went to park the car in a better place. Entering into the huge living room, he was met with stares and whispers from people. They were surprised to see his sister at the party, but seeing him too much. Lucius spared none of them a glance as he walked to the stairs, ascending the staircase. He just wanted to talk with his father and leave immediately.
• As he came to the hallway heading to his father’s room, he wondered the reason why he visited his casino out of the blue. “Well, whatever he is planning, I must find out today,” he vowed. He was now closer to his father’s master bedroom and just a few more feet to go when the door suddenly opened and Eva and his father came out smiling.
