• Michael was pulled back to the present by an insistent ringing. He opened his eyes and hit answer on the vid phone. The screen burst to life and his best friend Nick's face showed in front of him. Nick was 27 and worked with Michael at the construction site. They had been friends for the past 4 years. Sometimes Michael wished there was more than friendship between them but Nick was happily married with a couple of kids. "Hey buddy, it's Friday night, want to go have some fun?" Nick asked smiling toothily.
• Michael sighed, "Not really. It has been a long day and I'm exhausted."
