Chapter 4 My Attitude is My Style

  • Time heals everything, it is the perfect healer. With passing time, Vasu will recover his wounds, as the damaged cells have the capability of biological reduplication. But the society where he lives needs clarification on the issue without which Vasu will have tough time to survive later.
  • The morning sun rays peeped into the room through the ventilators welcoming anew day, a day of hope for several. Vasu pulled the blanket and covered his face, escaping the disturbance. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes again. A peculiar smell inside the blanket caught his attention. He smelled the unusual smell, took his left palm to his nose tip and took a deep breath again. Amidst darkness, he sensed the weeping of somebody and felt drops of tears on his face.
  • “Oh Shiva! Poor lady, she was with me the whole night”, Vasu murmured. He felt mild burning sensation on his knees, feet soles and back. Vasu tried to get up from the bed.
  • “No, Beta, No, wait, I am coming”. Akangshya came running for his help immediately and held him by the arms and back. Vasu starred at Akangshya’s face as if she ought not to be present then.
  • “You are still alive Maa!”
  • Akangshya ignored Vasu’s words, took him to the backyard and cleaned his whole body very carefully. In fact Mom’s love is unconditional. She in a very tender way took him to the T.V. room, made him sit comfortably and became busy in her household activities.
  • Vasu couldn’t still make out what went on and changed the channels randomly to find something his mind wanted. Vasu stopped at an advertisement of a movie as the channel tuned to Star Gold. The ad showed...... a shadow sitting on the edge of a big rock. Perhaps he was very sad. Suddenly, a golden blue light appeared from the sky. The boy looked up with a rising hope. The ad ended with a quote.......
  • “In this world, you are never alone”.
  • A deeper sense of confidence grew in his consciousness.
  • Meanwhile,
  • Sanchita became busy in her new life as a profound Professor. In between, she
  • collected all the required norms for the post and evolved as a dynamic youth
  • icon among the students.
  • “Hello students, I am proud to say that our department is the best in the state. The toppers of Psychology dwells here, it’s a good sign, our pride”, announced Miss Sanchita.
  • “Mam, of you are really pleased with our department, can I ask some questions which was
  • disturbing me from the last few years”.
  • “Manjari Kumawat isn’t your name. I like your guts. Today I will answer whatever you ask; by the
  • way, the top knot of your hair added an extra glamour to your daring looks. OK, carry on”.
  • “Mam, why you preferred a ruffian looks in your college times whereas you didn’t have
  • college uniforms in your time”.
  • “Well, have you ever seen a beggar dressed in Armani and asking for alms? As students, we all are beggars. Education and knowledge must always be held in priority. If your beauty comes in between, prefer to be daring, bold and sincere rather than being beautiful. I was all alone, had no friends but Miss Enaya became my best friend and made me realized my worth. Is this OK or you having anything more to ask, Manjari. It’s all about a strong belief in you, self expression and above all, attitude.
  • MY......ATTITUDE.....IS........MY......STYLE”.
  • Sanchita’s
  • versatility was touching its heights whereas Vasu’s routine was fairly humdrum,
  • just performing the usual everyday tasks and finding no way for a equilibrium
  • life. It became a regular process, waking up, having breakfast and tuning to
  • different T.V. channels. But, as days rolled, Vasu found himself trapped in his
  • own room. Nobody talked much with him. He realized their fake smiles they used
  • to put on at seeing him. He guessed the onset of what his mind will never
  • accept at any cost.
  • “Will this end so easily? Will I have to live my life with a blemish? Whatever happened to
  • me, whatever I encountered........how can I make someone understand?”
  • Vasu passed the coming days with these shattering thoughts, every moment thinking of the
  • way to the secret door of answers.........a huge bundle of hidden solutions. He forgot the way which will lead him to his destiny. Vasu finally made up his mind to go out of the house for freeing his mind from bondage and thinking the matter seriously.
  • “Where there is a will, there is a way”. This proverb proved its ultimate truth in Vasu’s life.
  • Vasu noticed some odd incidents in his present life. He could guess the coming of a guest before their arrival, the telecasting of some unfamiliar movies before they are casted. In fact, he was unknowingly foreseeing his near future.
  • One day, he guessed that somebody whom he knew very nicely will create a way for his going out recently. The very next day, the door bell rang early in the morning.
  • “Good morning Khuri, is Vasu at home”.
  • It was Drona, Vasu’s college friend.
  • Akangshya greeted him warm heartedly, “He is in his room, go”. She felt relaxed at Drona’s appearance as she had a tough struggle to keep Mr. Kaushik out if the matter.
  • “Everything will be all right, as time is the perfect healer, it will heal Vasu too”, she opposes Mr.Kaushik whenever he urges to talk with Vasu. Unknown of
  • what happened, Drona entered Vasu’s room.
  • “Arey
  • Engineer Babu, no phone calls, no news. I dropped my studies for 2 years, took
  • coaching for medical, and finally got selected. What’s about you?”
  • Vasu was looking for an opportunity, moreover his intuition turned true at Drona’s visit. This added belief to his belief.
  • “Drona, I have something to share with you, it’s serious. I have not smoke for the last 5 months, nor breathed the free air for almost a year. I want to go out but my parents won’t allow me, I am a hostage in my own house.
  • Drona, an expert speaker from his college times had a short conversation with Akangshya and very trick fully managed to take Vasu out of the house.
