• I was in shithead little brother mode. This would be a problem later.
• I heard a few more scoffs from back in the line behind me, apparently I was making people mad, but I was bored. Melissa was very punctual, and that meant getting there before the doors even opened. So I kept the comments coming, though I dialed it back a little.
• We got in, I had to put on a wristband that said I wasn't old enough to drink, and, for everyone else at least, the drinks started flowing. Melissa didn't drink. There were a few odd chairs along the walls behind sections of railing, and I found myself one early; no matter what I did, there was no shot of me actually seeing anything from the middle of the pack, so I settled for just listening and enjoying the music from the edges.
